“Ok now that we’ve left that whole mess behind us. Let’s find something that’s not haunted.” Aronia said, looking over his shoulder at the others. Virma, Damien and Turi nodded, while Vic looked a bit sad, but after a few seconds of feeling the sphinx’s gaze on him the pup nodded, albeit reluctantly. Following after the alpha, they made their way further away from the inlet by the ocean, and more towards the mountains. The farther they were away from where the ship had been, the better they would feel. Virma had gotten a very strange feeling from the ship, and he was actually glad that it was gone. Well, as gone as a ghost ship could be. Turi and Damien were more at ease now that they’d put the place behind them. Vic laid on Virma’s back, his face snuggled into his mane. Aronia sighed, happy that everything around them seemed normal, at least for now. The group came back to a field they’d crossed on their way to the inlet, and Aronia decided that they’d go the opposite way from the one they’d come from originally, which also incidentally would lead them to the mountains.

Vic seemed to perk up at the sight of the large stones coming up from the ground, and Virma smiled as he felt the pup shift at the base of his neck to get a better look at them. Turi took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air, while Damien shut his eyes, feeling very confident as to where he was walking beside her. If he was about to trip on something he was certain that Turi would let him now before it happened. Aronia flicked his ear as the screech of an eagle rang out across the area, looking up he watched the bird as it soared across the sky towards the mountains. Sometimes he envied the freedom that birds had, to just be able to go wherever they wanted without anyone that could stop them. But even they had their limitations, mothers had their nestlings, which in turn were limited to their nest. No matter how free a creature was, were they truly free? Aronia didn’t think so. Everything had something that kept them grounded, be it something big or something small. As for himself it was his own responsibilities that had him grounded. While he still had a lot of freedom, he couldn’t compare it to that of birds.

Stopping at the base of the mountains, they looked up at the glorious forms that time and earth had shaped over many years. Vic wagged his tail as he looked at them in awe, he’d never been allowed to get this close to them as his mother knew he wouldn’t be able to resist the urge to explore and more than likely get lost inside a cave. But now that he was with Virma, Turi and Aronia there wasn’t really anything that could keep him from having a look around. “Can we go into a cave, please?” Vic begged, looking at Aronia with eyes as large as only a pup could manage. Damien couldn’t help but laugh, while Aronia and Virma just shook their heads. Turi smiled softly, thinking that the pup was just too precious. “Only if you promise to stay close. I don’t want to be the one to tell your mother that you went missing in a cave.” Aronia said sternly. “I promise!” Vic smiled, tail wagging so quickly Damien was sure it would rip off and fly away into the sky on its own.

Now that they had a planned destination, Aronia started to lead them up a path he was familiar with. He’d been in the cave he intended to show them many times, and feeling more than confident enough that if, by any chance, Vic would wander off, he would be able to find him. Virma, Turi and Damien were also eager to get to the cave, neither of them having been in this area of the mountains before, but their excitement couldn’t even compare to Vic’s. He was starting to have trouble being still and Virma ultimately had to set him down on the ground as he got a bit uncomfortable with having him shift around constantly. After he’d been placed on the ground Vic stuck close to Aronia like a chick to a mother hen. Turi and Damien joked about it, and fell into a silent laughing fit when they saw Aronia glaring at them, a very faint blush on his cheeks. Virma just smiled at it all. He couldn’t deny that the pup had a certain charm to him, a very positive one that made those around him like him. A very rare charm indeed. Sure it could just be that he was a adorable pup, but Virma felt like there was more to him than met the eye.

Aronia paused and moved his paw to keep Vic from going forward, earning a small pout from the pup that made him smile. Looking over his shoulder, he made sure that Turi, Virma and Damien were all there before he moved to the cave opening. He heard Vic gasp in awe at the sheer size of it, and he had to agree. The opening dwarfed the pup to what he imaged a hamster must have looked beside himself. Damien looked around curiously as they went into the darkness. He was surprised that it didn’t take them long to get their eyes used to the darkness around them. Turi glanced around and spotted a few small crystals on the roof of the tunnel that glowed ever so slightly. They reminded her an awful lot about the starry skies she’d see at night. It felt her with a serene feeling, and she could understand why Aronia seemed to like this cave so much. The sphinx in question glanced down at Vic, who had his eyes fixed on the crystals, and if Aronia didn’t know better he’d said that the pup had been hypnotised.

Aronia smiled as they entered the large chamber he’d wanted them to see. All around it were both large and small crystals of every shape and color imaginable. Vic, Virma, Turi and Damien stood in awe as they looked around the chamber. “Feel free to have a look around. Or do you plan to just stand there and gawk?” Aronia chuckled as he made his way over to a small pool that formed itself to a very small river between a few of the crystals. Almost immediately Vic had taken off and walked laps around the crystals, inspecting everything he came across. Turi looked at Damien and Virma before she shrugged while smiling and went up to a cluster of star shaped crystals to have a look at them. Damien went over to Aronia to see what he was doing, and he was surprised to see that there were small fish in the river that looked like crystals themselves. Virma sat down beside a large crystal and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He felt like this was a very spiritual place, and it certainly looked the part, and he hoped they could stay there for a while.
I may have lost my mind officially... been tearing myself apart with this damn cv/resume. I just want to go into a corner with my dakimakura and die.
